ACS is a family owned and corporately managed cleaning company and as such, we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously. We strive continuously to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, adopting technological innovations to reduce the energy consumption, water usage, carbon emissions and waste linked to our services.

• We provide low emission vehicles to our Contract Managers
• We support a zero to landfill policy and offer (and will support) full recycling programmes for our clients.
• Where possible we use chemical free cleaning programmes
• Minimise the consumption of non-renewable resources
• Maximise re-use and recycling
• We offer our customers a full range of environmentally responsible products
• We supply 100% recycled tissue and hand towels
• Our staff undergo environmental awareness training
• We achieve and promote best practice with respect to purchasing and sustainable development

We Continually Improve Our Environmental Performance

At ACS we continually improve our environmental performance whilst ensuring the quality of our work remains high. We use environmentally friendly and ethical products and consumables and continually strive to reduce the environmental impact of our service. Below are some further initiatives we have introduced across our business:

• We reduce our resource consumption by using supplies sparingly, buying in bulk where possible to reduce transport, and refusing to purchase excessively packed goods.
• Our Office is run using the lowest amount of energy practicably possible and we adopt initiatives which help offset our carbon footprint.
• Our employees and associates are trained and aware of their responsibilities with regards to their environmental impacts and practice.
• We ensure all solid and liquid wastes are disposed of in accordance with legislation.
• We have reduced the variety of chemicals used and offered within the business and now, wherever possible use Biohygiene products, described below.

Careful selection and testing over nearly a decade have allowed Biohygiene to satisfy all their goals relating to product performance, value for money, attaining better health and safety profiles, with a lower environmental footprint.

They aim to replace undesirable ingredients with a combination of biology, plant extracts, natural thickeners, and naturally derived sustainable surfactants. They want their cleaning products to be safer for the environment and for the person using them.

Gone are the days when ‘green’ meant poor cleaning standards. The products are used successfully in the harshest industrial and commercial conditions while giving key environmental advantages.

• Sanitizing products, utilizing eco- friendly, naturally derived, mild surfactants and a natural fermentation extract to produce an environmentally responsible and sustainable cleaner and disinfectant
